Everyone is going on an important journey. It brings them to the stable where they find baby Jesus and they all want to celebrate. This simple but effective Nativity is just right for very young children and can be put on so quickly and easily.

Only three songs to learn

There is little to worry about in the way of staging and scenery. The children only have 3 songs to learn, but by using different accompaniments to fit the various characters, 6 distinctive numbers are created. The play builds into a simple tableau and the narrator’s part (virtually the only speaking part) is in rhyme. It can be read by an adult or an older child or shared out among individual performers or small groups.

Simple actions to the songs are not only fun but help to consolidate word learning.
